How to take a vertical photo? Turn the camera 90 degrees.
These are the instructions in one of my vintage camera manuals.
Somehow it’s not that simple for me.
I got stuck a while back in the horizontal mode and turning the camera 180 degrees is suddenly a big deal.
In 2012 I’d like to try to change that. Let’s start here with a photo from Erikastrasse 11, my sweet little atelier that I share with the amazing, Laura Jurt.

Maybe you’ve been here yourself? It’s not that things aren’t going well, it’s just that there’s not too much in focus these days…

I couldn’t help but stop when I saw these hanging in a little floral atelier in my neighborhood. In my next life I might like to be a florist…

Fruit and vegetables outdoors in winter…they always make me shiver when I walk by. I think they must be so cold.
And that little bowl is such a strange combination, isn’t it? That bowl is a rotation of unusual combinations. It can be found at Elisaburg.

My favorite version of winter is cold and bright.
If I don’t have to go into the office on those precious days, then you’ll find me out of doors with a camera or two.

I sometimes fear that I might have to move just because I will one day photograph all of the interesting things in a 5 kilometer radius of my flat…but that’s a silly thought, now isn’t it?
One way to breathe fresh air into things is simply to get a new camera! The recent photos were taken with my new Mamiya 645E.

There’s a little architecture firm down the street from where I live. They like to do nice things in their windows.
