the boxes are being packed. the dust is being stirred from where it once had settled. the sanity is sighing and taking a commercial break. looks like moving is now underway. see you in portland.
There were certainly signs along the way. It was just questionable as to how one was to read them.Â
…for this week’s Illustration Friday theme: Signs…
She’s been known to wrap your woes around her wooden spool. Collecting them up into something tangible so that you can stop getting tangled up in invisible threads of woes and worries.

Sometimes a little bit of melancholy can creep in. Perhaps it’s the music that brought it on. Or perhaps he just wasn’t at all afraid of it.

Looks like we’ll be having a new place to hang our hats soon. Yep, that’s right. We’re going to be calling Portland our new home, starting June first. This little pic is where we’ll be living. Third floor,  corner unit.  Can’t wait to get to Portland and try out those magical Voodoo Donuts! Thanks for the preview from Mighty Girl, take a look at the sugar-glazed goodness on her flicker page!

I thought that I would share one of the more beautiful things that I have heard recentlty. My new birth doula client will be having her son soon. At the birth, it is her wish that the first sound that her newborn son hears is his father whispering a strong, soothing “om” into his right ear. Â

Thank goodness for simple sounds…

Handmade sketchbooks are the very best kind. I’ve become so spoiled that I won’t even *think* about buying a sketchbook that hasn’t been put together with tender loving care. Take a look at my gorgeous collection – all made by my very talented friend, Rhiannon Alpers. The newest acquisition, is a delicious brown and blue little number with cork decorative. What a beauty. I can’t wait to fill it up!
