Halloween, time to carve a pumpkin.

I do LOVE wonderful messes, like this one. It’s a good thing that I live in the area of town that was once industrial. There’s still a bit left.
Speaking of messes, this morning I found a great gift for the “messie” in your life. File folders printed with, “One of these days I’m going to get myself organized”. Brilliant!
And speaking of printed matter, I really could have used one of these cards last night.
Tonight is destined to be better. Tonight is movie night and Bladerunner is playing in the local theater. It’s one of my very favorite movies and I can’t wait to see it on the big screen.

Found an intriguing installation of porcelain jellyfish today, made by coe & waito. It’s interesting to see something which is normally so fluid become something solid (and porcelain white). coe & waito also make wonderful little porcelain acorns.

PAY IT FORWARD (PIF)
(by way of Karin, via Sandra, via Camilla and so on) – here are the rules:
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
So go ahead and sign yourself up in the comments section below! Can’t wait to meet a few new people and make some gifts.

Crawling vines down the street from where I live. They are changing into delicious colors, aren’t they?
This morning, I discovered a very special animated music video, it can be found here. It is worth the wait for it to download, trust me.
The artist who did the illustrations is Katy Horan. She creates quite wonderful drawings and paintings of creatures (human and non-human).Â
Found on a building that is on the way to my bus stop.
Thank goodness for unexpected beauty.
It could have been a 10 if not for this silly cold that won’t go away! On days like today, sometimes a hoodie is the only thing to wear.
Despite the cold, I still have time to share a few artists whose work I really enjoy:

Just finished reading The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. One of the finest books that I’ve read in a really long time. It was a perfect autumn read. The book and the season somehow compliment one another.
Other books that I’ve recently read can be found here.
Sometimes there’s a cold snap. And other times, there’s something of a firesnap. We’re having strangely beautiful, sunny weather that makes all of the red and golden leaves look like they’re on fire. Yummy!

Hello and Happy Saturday!
The graffiti on this mailbox made me think about how our “neighborhoods” aren’t just physical locations but virtual locations, too (like blogs).
I just thought that I would take a minute to share a few new blogs that I’ve added to my “neighborhood”:
